Hi! My name is Bella Grass and I am the founder of the Daily Hand Engraver. By day I am a bench jeweler and hand engraver at a small custom shop and by night I am still those things. Yes, like most bench jewelers and engravers I work a lot. And making this website may just add to the work, but I feel called to do it so here I am.

I first started out doing hand push engraving in trade school and something clicked inside of me. The love for the trade started becoming a part of who I am. Although I have only been hand engraving for almost 2 years now, I have thrown myself into it. I have been privileged enough to be able to attend classes with some of the best engravers in the industry.

The Daily Hand Engraver started because I wanted to give some of that back; to build a place that puts great engravers in front of the people who should know about them, connects students to teachers the way I got connected, and makes this tiny, incredible craft a little less hidden. My goal is to eventually do this full-time out of my own studio. Until then, consider this my other job: finding the people doing extraordinary work with a graver and making sure more people know their names.

The goal of this website is simple: to organize all my research and give a voice to the hand engravers I look up to in the industry (and there is a lot). These engravers, if they know it or not, have pushed me towards excellence and perfecting my own skills.
