Jeff Parke takes the discipline of traditional scrollwork and turns it toward darker, punk-inflected imagery; skulls, cartoon figures, and motifs of punk rock rendered with gold inlay across knives, jewelry, and watches.
Jeff's Story
Jeff’s gold smithing and engraving adventure started in the workshop of his family owned jewelry store in 2006. He started as an apprentice under Master Jeweler Greg Ortega. During this time he was also taking gold smithing classes at New Approach school for jewelers in Virginia Beach. In 2008 he took ornamental hand engraving taught by Master engraver Jason Marchiafava. This latter class changed his life and over the next 10 years was fortunate enough to study under such masters as Sam Alfano, Alain Lovenburg and Alexander Siderov.
Over the last 8 years he had the pleasure of teaching hand engraving at the GRS facility in Emporia Kansas. Texas school of engraving in Houston Texas. New approach school for jewelers in Nashville Tennessee. And at Jewellery School in both Saint Petersburg and Moscow Russia. He has also opened my own engraving school in my home town of Mesa Arizona.
